OUR HISTORY
Established in 2022 and granted 501(c)(3) status in 2023, The Children SOAR, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to uplifting students in marginalized communities of Atlanta. **SOAR—Striving, Optimism, Achieving, and Resilience—**represents our core values and our belief in developing confident, motivated youth who are equipped to succeed academically, socially, and personally. Our mission goes beyond providing resources; we focus on shaping mindsets and empowering students to rise above their circumstances and reach their full potential.
The Children SOAR, Inc. carries out its mission through year-round educational and leadership programs alongside three annual community events: a Christmas Clothing & Toy Drive, an August Back-to-School Drive, and the Juneteenth “From Trouble to Triumph” event, which centers on empowerment, accountability, and making positive life choices. Our core programs include Our Stories That SOAR, a reading and literacy initiative that promotes education and self-expression; the From Trouble to Triumph Leadership Program, which builds leadership skills and character; and The Real Me Program, delivered in partnership with the AJ Battle Foundation to support youth identity development, confidence, and personal growth.
The organization’s core values include empowerment, equity and access, resilience, education and literacy, community, integrity, trauma-informed care, and hope and purpose. Guided by these values, The Children SOAR, Inc. is committed to supporting students in the Atlanta, Georgia area by providing essential school supplies, academic resources, and practical support for daily needs. Through intentional programming and compassionate engagement, we empower students to overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop the skills necessary to become leaders and positive contributors within their communities.
